Wash Out is a music and drinks event held inside a laundromat, inspired by the discovery that a nearby liquor store and laundromat both used the same typeface—Broadway. Designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1927, Broadway is a decorative Art Deco typeface known for its bold and theatrical character. The event reimagines the typically mundane task of doing laundry as a social and enjoyable experience. Guests reserve time slots to do their laundry together while enjoying music and drinks in a lively atmosphere. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes—the average laundry cycle—offering participants a brief yet memorable escape within an ordinary everyday setting.
